I am interested in being part of a Vegan Resource Based Economy, where tangata whenua can grow hua rakau (fruit trees), hua whenua (vegetables), grains, nuts and plants for Rongoa (medicine and healing) and for industry. We need to abandon Animal Agriculture and embrace a local, government policy supported/mandated and financially encouraging Plant Based Economy for better yield of crops that feed humans and animals, without killing animals, and all the while sequestering carbon (fruit and nut trees) while producing a profitable crop. We already have so much success in this area: Bananas grown in Hawkes Bay, Medical Cannabis in Tairawhiti, Avocados in Taranaki and Tauranga, Drinking Tea in Waikato, Oats in Canterbury and Otago, Quinoa in Taranaki. Our soils are predominantly Brown soil 43%, Pallic soil 12%, Podzol soil 13%,Allophanic 5%,Pumice7%, Recent 6%, it is time to invest financially and industrially, in a Plant Based Economy.
